House Fellowship Centres

House Fellowship is the gathering of two or more people in honour of God. Ps 102:22, 1 Corinthians 5:4, Matthew 18:20 and Ezra 3:1 House Fellowship is biblical, it had its origin from the time of the Apostles, Act 1:12-16

House fellowship can be defined as a meeting in a house where believers, and people at different levels of spiritual maturity gather at an agreed and particular day and time of the week to share the Word of God.

This is carried out in an atmosphere of love, praising, worshiping and praying together; sharing experiences on what the Lord has done or doing in their lives; building up one another and witnessing through their actions and activities to the community in which the fellowship is based.

House fellowship is an arm of the church Titus 3:1, so every believer, Child of God/Worker are expected to attend a house fellowship centre closer to his/her house.

Just as a church service is not completed without Sunday school, so also is a Child of God’s Sunday service is not completed without attending a house fellowship. 2 Peter 3:9 Act 5:42. It is a channel of communication between the church pastorate and the ordinary member of the church.

SPIRITUAL IMPORTANCE OF HOUSE FELLOWSHIP

* God is lifted up, as praises, prayers and Scripture reading are being carried out in the house fellowship (Heb.10:24-25)

* Talented and future leaders are being identified and encouraged.

Our Spiritual level is lifted. In this, huge reward is the case. Isaiah 38:1-5, 2 Chronicles 26:5, Rom.10: 11

* Prayers are answered, Captives were set loose, chains and the devils works are broken Matt.18:18-20, John 14:14

* Through the coming together in House Fellowship, Brethren were made to strive for Perfection. Heb.13:21, John 20:23

PHYSICAL IMPORTANCE OF HOUSE FELLOWSHIP

* Family ties are promoted; as families residing within the same community comes together in fellowship, good and cordial relationship are promoted and encouraged.

* Those that come together recognized themselves as one big family which promotes unity. Phil.3:16, 1 Corinth.10:33

* Through the coming together to praise and worship God, Spiritual, Physical and financial assistant were promoted and rendered to one another. 2 Thess. 3:15, Rom.15:1-3   and 1 Thess. 3:10
